Episode 76:
When Dating After Divorce Meets Money
with Ed Coambs of Healthy Love and Money
Show Notes
Ed Coambs is a therapist and money expert, and heā€™s here with us to discuss having healthy money conversations with our partners. If youā€™re in the process of divorce, dating may be the last thing you want to think about. But most of us WILL date again, so we should be prepared for financial conversations.
It is important to talk about money early on in the dating process, and you can even discuss money on the first date. Ed talks about the significance of understanding each other's money values and histories. He introduces the concept of financial intimacy and explains how it involves open and honest communication about money. We go on to talk about attachment styles in relationships and their impact on financial discussions.
Understanding how your partner values money and the approach they take to money are the keys to building financial intimacy.
